There is a huge variety of things to do in the area surrounding the Dalaman Holiday Villa with stunning beaches, bustling market towns like Fethiye and ancient sites to visit. You will run out of time before you run out of things to do. And Dalaman is a good base from which to travel further afield.

The nearby Dalaman Airport has cheap and regular flights to other parts of Turkey so you can easily spend a couple of days in Istanbul.

Or why not hop in a taxi and visit the tourist resort of Marmaris if you fancy a night on the tiles.

Beaches near to the Dalaman Holiday Villa

Sarigerme is a popular family destination with a beautiful sandy beach and excellent facilities – snack bars, picnic tables and good showers. There are a variety of watersports available.

OluDeniz is perhaps the most photographed place in Turkey. The water is a beautiful turquoise blue and the beach has safe swimming as well as all the usual facilities. Olu Deniz has a paragliding centre and you can spend all day watching the paragliders return to earth.

Iztuzu Beach is home to the endangered loggerhead turtle. The beautiful beach is reached by water taxi from Dalyan, just a few miles from the Dalaman Holiday Villa– a bustling town situated on the Dalyan river between Köycegiz Lake and the sea.

The famous Lycian Rock Tombs of Caunos are just a few miles from the Dalaman Holiday Villa

The boat trip passes the ancient Caunos rock tombs and if you have time you can try the mud baths in Dalyan, all of which makes for a wonderful day out.

Eating and Drinking

Gocek is a bustling and stylish marina town, just a few miles from the Dalaman Holiday Villa, with many harbour-front restaurants to choose from. If you like boats you will like Gocek and there are worse things to do than sit and watch the comings and goings from your terrace bar seat.

Just half an hour from the Dalaman Holiday Villa is Fethiye, a traditional Turkish market town and views over the magnificent bay of Fethiye

Fethiye is a lively Turkish market town and the perfect mix of traditional and modern Turkey. Less than 30 minutes from the Dalaman Holiday Villa, the town of Fethiye with a bustling bazaar at its centre, is a great place to wander and window shop.

Tuesday is market day in Fethiye with around 500 traders all selling their wares. You can practice your haggling in a friendly atmosphere.

Originally Fethiye was known as Termessos and there are still remains and an amphitheater from the Lycian period. Fethiye is one of the best sailing centres anywhere in the world with steady winds, crystal clear water and the most incredible scenery. Boat trips are available from the Fethiye harbour to a variety of destinations.

Calis Beach is the main beach area for the bustling lively town of Fethiye. It stretches for over 4kms with a promenade flanked by numerous restaurants and bars on the other. You can dine in the open air watch the amazing sunsets. A water taxi leaves for Fethiye at regular intervals.
There are plenty of shops in Calis – and even a nightclub or two. The Turkish adore children and make them very welcome in restaurants.
